Position Description:

The Real Estate Product Strategist is a senior-level client facing role, and will involve direct client coverage in the consultant and institutional channels. The ideal candidate will come with pre-existing relationships amongst prominent real estate investors and consultants. This person will partner with the senior real estate portfolio managers to lead and execute PIMCOs real estate business strategy. An expert in the asset class, this person will be the firms leader in speaking to clients and prospects about PIMCOs real estate views and strategies and will quickly become the go-to person for investors to gain insights into the real estate markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will work with groups across the firm to lead the growth of PIMCOs Real Estate business and range of products. The Real Estate Product Strategist will partner with portfolio managers to develop a business strategy, create new products that marry PIMCO investment capabilities with detailed knowledge about global investor demand, and to service existing business. The individual will serve as a proxy for portfolio managers in speaking to clients and consultants about PIMCOs real estate strategies (most product managers are ex-PMs). In addition this person would be instrumental in writing thought leadership pieces for wide distribution to the marketplace, including media.

Position Requirements:

> * 15+ years of professional experience, including a demonstrable track record within the real estate industry either as an investor, advisor or business development professional.
* Prior experience with a variety of institutional products and strategies from core through to opportunistic preferred.
* Exceptional communication skills required, with experience speaking credibly and clearly with regard to real estate investing relative to other asset classes
* Experience in, and knowledge of, the real estate capital markets (public and private, debt and equity) along with familiarity with various property sectors in which PIMCO invests. Understanding of European markets a plus
* Previous work experience within investment management preferred but not required
* Excellent presentation skills, coupled with polished written and verbal communication skills required.
* The ideal candidate must be intelligent, low-ego but extremely driven and team-oriented with a collaborative approach.
* Lastly, he/she will have a proven ability to work effectively across cultures, functions and geographies.
