Responsibilities
This role will assist and be under the guidance of other engineering staff working on projects to meet various utility facility needs. Successful candidate must be capable of working virtually, in the office as well as a hybrid model of both scenarios.
**Location flexible between Chester, VA, Columbus, OH, and Canonsburg, PA**
* Compile, analyze, and summarize information and data sets for review by existing staff
* Collect and analyze Transmission/Distribution pipeline data and records
* Visit field locations including active work sites and existing pipeline facilities
* Assist in the development of the Transmission ESRI GIS and ancillary applications
* Assist in tracking progress and completion of team projects
* Review, compile, and analyze information relating to Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure and Material Property information for pipelines and stations
* Attend various meetings with the Transmission Integrity group and other internal stakeholders
* Become familiar with NiSource procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements relating to the Transmission Integrity group
Qualifications
* Current student of an ABET accredited, four-year Engineering or Technical program
* Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study and plan to return to school to continue that study
* Ability to work 40 hrs/wk during the summer
* Ability to travel to local work sites
* Proficiency with PC applications (prefer strong skills with ESRI GIS, databases, and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, etc.)
* Proven communication skills
* Possess a valid and current drivers license
* Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
