Web Analyst
The New York Post is searching for a web analyst to turn raw data into real business insights. This person will provide analytics insights and recommendations that span across the entire company, including editorial and business development teams.
Role:
* Create and own daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of audience data. Analyze data and provide recommendations in real-time
* Calculate forecasts and set goals based on the predictive success of content strategies
* Proactively provide daily insights and expertise of onsite content, video, and podcast performance to grow multiple audiences
* Respond to ad hoc requests from multiple business units
* Identify project-appropriate KPIs and develop automated ways to track strategic growth
* Create narratives and data visualizations as a way to tell stories about our data
* Analyze and provide insights for various acquisition channels, such as social media and search referrals
* Transform ambiguous requests from stakeholders into actionable insights
* Intelligently create custom content strategies for existing audiences, with a strong focus on cohort analytics and recommendation systems
Ideal candidate:
* Strong background in working with digital media, digital content, video, and podcast analytics preferred
* Driven by curiosity with a strong analytical background
* Bachelors degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, journalism, or similar field
* Demonstrated attention to detail
* Experience with web analytics, especially Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
* Previous work with BigQuery a plus, SQL knowledge also a plus
* Python or R programming language
* Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Looker
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to work with a variety of requests from stakeholders across the organization
