Job Description

Job Description:

Youve been building user-facing applications for years. You relish the opportunity to work up and down the technology stack to solve technical challenges. Youve been a passionate mentor to the engineers around you and maybe even held a management role in the past.

Join a new team at The Wall Street Journal that will focus on building new user experiences to help our readers get as much value as possible out of our products.

You will:

* Design and lead development of cross-platform web and mobile solutions to solve business problems.
* Work closely with journalists, designers, data scientists, product managers and other engineers to build solutions to current and future newsroom challenges.

* Help set technical direction and long-term strategy for future initiatives.

* Play an active role in the product development process.

* Mentor and support junior engineers across all WSJ engineering teams.

* Keep an eye on technical innovations and changing trends in the mobile landscape.

You are:

* An experienced full-stack engineer with at least 3 years experience in a lead role
* Familiar with modern web development practices, with direct experience in React, Node.js, and cloud-based architectures (AWS a big plus)

* Comfortable leading teams of engineers as well as working hands-on throughout project delivery
