Senior Vice President, Data Strategy - Open Banking

Overview
The Data Strategy team in the Data Strategy & Management organization (Chief Data Office) is responsible for developing and driving data strategies for Mastercards product and services teams. The team ensures that Mastercard maintains and increases the value of Mastercards data assets as we build new products and services that collect, use or share data.

The SVP, Data Strategy - Open Banking is responsible, directly and through team members, for enabling through data strategy, data design, data capabilities and data compliance the Finicity business unit as it is integrated into Mastercard and expands its products and services on a global basis. This role will be responsible for identifying and building data capabilities, a data compliance program, and data utility requirements.

Role

Lead a team of data subject matter experts to integrate the data assets and capabilities of Mastercards newly acquired entity, Fincity, into the organization in a manner that ensures continuing compliance with applicable data-related legal, ethical and best practice standards, while also enabling the leveraging of those data assets and capabilities for strategic growth.
Develop and operate a data compliance program to ensure that the continuing and expanding collection, use and sharing of data comply with global credit, fair lending and housing laws, privacy laws, data responsibility and industry standards, including FCRA compliance and credit model governance. Determine related required data processes, policies, standards and infrastructure that need to be developed to support that program
Provide strategic guidance, data strategies and roadmaps on a global basis for the use of the open banking capabilities and related data to enable Mastercards open banking and related data and product strategies, taking into consideration enterprise synergies and requirements, data responsibility and regulatory environment
Coordinate and direct cross-functional teams across the larger Data Strategy & Management team, and product, technology and legal teams to enable the creation and launch of new data driven open banking products globally
Provide thought leadership to and advocate with customers, regulators and other stakeholders for individually permissioned data sharing subject to best practices for that data sharing, including required transparency, consent, data access and security. Lead workstream engagement with industry standards bodies to enable the individually permissioned sharing of financial data
In coordination with relevant teams, members design new data and data capabilities to support the business, product and data strategies, coordinating with the relevant product and technology teams to do so
Create and deliver education regarding data issues concerning data design, open banking, credit bureaus, fair lending laws and related topics

All About You

Significant leadership experience in leading both direct and cross-functional teams
Global expertise in open banking and credit laws, ecosystems, standards and practices
Significant experience in data design and product development, including for regulated data such as credit data, and with analytical products
Strong data analytic capabilities, and written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail is a must
Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven experience in relationship building and partnering. Must work well in both team and individual settings and must be able to work with a geographically dispersed team
Ability to create strategies and plans that define how information can be utilized to support an organization's overall business strategy, and how that information and data is organized, and governed inside an organization
Familiarity with industry best practices for collection and use of data
