Manufacturing Supervisor

We are seeking an ambitious leader with the passion to lead and develop employees and teams in our Cheese Department to deliver outstanding manufacturing results in the areas of Cost, Quality, Service, People, and Environment. The ideal candidate must have the ability to attract, retain, develop, inspire, and empower employees to drive sustainable continuous improvement at all levels.

The Manufacturing Supervisor must possess the initiative to share best practices within the facility, across our supply chain, and with external resources to achieve leading-edge manufacturing and supply chain technologies.

Program Administration:

* Delivers continuous improvement in key initiatives of Cost, Quality, Service, People, and Environment through efficient use of materials, equipment and resources.

* Proactively communicates and coordinates with other Supervisors and functions to optimize operations and resources.

* Effectively plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production schedules to meet and exceed customer requirements, production goals, and company/plant objectives.

* Proactively coordinates with the Maintenance Department to conduct preventative maintenance. Understands the financial impact of Line Efficiency, Material Yield, and Labor Productivity on plant budgets and develops Action Plans to address gaps.

* Effectively manages material yield in all aspects of the manufacturing processes.

* Optimizes staffing to ensure efficient yet safe and effective labor productivity.

Regulatory Compliance:

* Focuses on safety of all employees and work environment through both self-adherence and enforcement of safety procedures.

* Ensures compliance of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and the Food Safety Plan.

* Owns and drives department and shift continuous improvement and processes.

Training:

* Leads engagement of employees, work teams, and the utilization of technology to deliver world-class line efficiencies.

* Leads employees and achieves results through teamwork, coaching, developing and positive influence. Partners with training department and other supervisors to ensure timely and effective training and development of departmental employees.

* Provides clear and timely performance feedback to employees.

* Attracts, retains and develops the very BEST talent and empowers, engages, and inspires employees. Takes active leadership role in promoting diversity and inclusion.

Required Experience and Knowledge:

* High School Diploma required. Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain or related field highly desired.

* We are seeking 1+ years of increasing responsibility in food manufacturing/processing environment.

* Must possess strong leadership skills, problem solving skills, and decision-making skills.

* Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills at various levels of the company.

* Proficient computer skills, including usage of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

* Effective communication skills for working cross-functionally in a fast-paced work environment.

* Ability to work 12-hour shifts.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The temperature of the work environment can fluctuate due to occasional temperatures from cold/cool to warm/hot. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud and will require ear plugs. While working in the manufacturing areas, the incumbent is required to wear personal protective equipment.

This role may require off shift hours, weekend and/or work on holidays as needed.
