As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will Implement and integrate new information technology infrastructure using approved Information Technology (IT) processes. You will be responsible for the investigation, cost analysis/justification, selection, planning, and implementation of changes to some subset of the information technology infrastructure. In addition, you will;

* Participate in review and formation of processes
* Perform as an individual contributor, but may supervise a small work team (6 or fewer members)
* Serve as an expert and is routinely involved in decision making relative to process, technology or business-related issues
* Coach and mentor team members
* Have broad contact with multiple functional and business partners on strategic business relationships and projects
* Work with suppliers in defining requirements for contracts and service levels for purchased infrastructure services

Proven Technical Skills and Experiences

* Applies detailed analysis to optimize Information Technology (IT) infrastructure in support of major business processes. Requiring a broad vision, works to maximize the integration of multiple infrastructure processes. (Normally requiring extensive understanding of multiple complex systems or processes and interrelated architectures.)
* Anticipates the need for, identifies, analyzes, selects, cost justifies and applies new information technology infrastructure components within a diverse environment as required to support strategic business plans and processes. Implements and optimizes the integration of new Information Technology (IT) infrastructure using approved IT processes
* Leads / facilitates / participates on projects or group meetings or teams responsible for strategic projects or projects that span two or more functional areas, identifies and pursues opportunities to leverage systems, maintains focus of team, keeps key stakeholders informed. Establishes, designs and implements project measurement techniques
* Participates as an effective and key member on multiple teams. Facilitates team building by coaching, mentoring, and providing leadership to a small number of teams. Serves as an expert teaming resource to one or more teams. Responsibility may include chartering and defining the make-up of the team
* Designs and implements complex changes which impact multiple processes and functions. These changes may be innovative solutions required for new business processes and procedures. Provides leadership in the change communication process by promoting new ways of communicating and coordinating change information
* Manages the current infrastructure to allow for maximum availability, at a minimum cost, and optimizing performance in a complex environment for multiple business processes

Interpersonal, Leadership and Teaming Competencies

* Understanding of relevant infrastructure components and operating systems and the ability to troubleshoot in those environments
* Knowledge and skills necessary to implement and maintain infrastructure components, i.e., communications, private and public network, network access security, database and information access security, middleware, computing hardware and operating system
* Understanding of computer technology processes and methodology
* Business process knowledge of assigned area(s) and/or function(s)

Education (or equivalent work experience)

* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Infrastructure Technologies
