Information Security - Summer 2021 Internship Program

We are seeking a rising undergraduate entering their Junior or Senior year enrolled in an accredited college with a focus in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

The undergraduate track is open to any student currently enrolled in a college or university program.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, undergraduate interns participate in professional development opportunities, panel workshops, as well as industry and organizational overviews.

You will have the opportunity to bridge the gap between academic understanding and practical professional experience to develop skills that will help set you up for success.

Interns also engage with senior leaders and executives in collaborative discussions aimed at providing professional insight and inspiration about First American as an employer of choice.

All interns are paid a competitive rate based on their specific track and have the flexibility to work from home in the event that local offices are not open.

Position Overview

The Information Security Project Portfolio Management team focuses on projects that center around Information Security, with collaboration and cooperation with the software development and hardware/infrastructure departments. These projects require the ability to learn and understand Information Security Policies and Standards. Individually, or as part of a team, responsible for assisting the Primary Project Manager with project planning, providing statuses, risk management, issue resolution, and reporting in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and aligns with the risk posture of the company. Duties may include assisting the Primary Project Manager with: assembling project team, scheduling project meetings, taking and distributing meeting notes, following up with assigned individual responsibilities, maintaining schedules to ensure timely completion of project, communicating project status and issues to team and management. Coordinates with other projects and work groups. Socialization and communication of all changes that may impact the Business or other Corporate Departments. Work closely with Info Sec operations on tasks related to IT security compliance.

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Visio)

Working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change regularly, requiring the ability to adapt and adopt quickly

Ability to self-start and be versatile in a dynamic environment

Strong problem-solving skills

An interest and willingness to learn

Interest in and basic awareness of Information Security and Cyber security

Microsoft Project and Portfolio & Project Management Tools
