As a Project Manager on the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) team, you will work with project managers across the IT Portfolio to ensure adherence to the SDLC. These are multiple large and complex projects with significant impact on business processes and technology used firm wide. You will also work with the Program Manager leading the SDLC to influence strategic direction and develop tactical plans as needed on projects that are struggling. Responsibilities:
Conducts preliminary investigation of project requests by reviewing requirements and specifications and testing and by reviewing support and training plans to ensure they are aligned with organizational priorities, business plans and objectives.
Works with multiple different roles within the IT organization from project managers and project team members to senior IT management to communicate information regarding the Portfolio.
Works with the Program Manager leading the SDLC to define and maintain SDLC processes and required artifacts.
Works with the Program Manager overseeing the SDLC to analyze and report metrics on the Portfolio to Senior Management.
Performs project risk assessments, including identifying key risk factors, providing effective mitigation strategies and assigning contingency action plans for projects that are struggling.
Has an understanding of different software development methodologies in order to create templates and processes.
Facilitates meetings with different stakeholders to help communicate change across the IT organization.
An understanding of project management tools, specifically the project management module within ServiceNow (SNOW) is a nice to have.
Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS or applicable degree and seven years of experience including: project management, enterprise implementation, leadership experience, strategic planning, business acumen, change management or combination of education, training and experience.
Understanding of the SDLC methodologies- Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall.
Experience in managing inter-connected projects with complex dependencies.
Experience in communicating across all levels of the organization; specifically with executive management
High level of proficiency with tools like MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to create reports using Pivot tables and other functionality within Excel.
Ability to create and track detailed, multiyear, multi-function project plans.
Experience working on projects that have detailed complex business requirements.
Proficiency in managing teams with a diverse array of skills, talents and responsibilities.
Strong communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
