SUMMARY

The Sr. Financial Analyst position reports to the Dir, Research Finance. The position is responsible for all financial and accounting functions associated with Endowment and Annuity accounting.

Administration and Management of Endowments:
- Review endowment agreements and setup endowments according to applicable rules and policies
- Perform full remap process for endowments to appropriate departments when needed
- Maintain correct classification and AFR codes by performing periodical review and comparison between MDACC and UT System/UTIMCO
- Act as liaison between MDACC and UT System/UTIMCO
- Organize endowment working group meetings and discussion topics to improve the management of the endowments within MDACC
- Provide guidance about endowment restrictions and how endowment funds are to be used
- Work closely with the CAO Office and Development Office to ensure smooth transition of information between offices

Endowment Fund Accounting:
- Book various monthly, quarterly and annual endowment and annuity activity including book value and market value changes, LTF distributions, SIA distributions and reinvestments
- Ensure all endowment and annuity related accounting communication from UT System is recorded properly
- Stay current on any new accounting rules or regulations as it pertains to the financial management of endowments and annuities.

Reconciliation and Reporting:
- Reconcile endowment and annuity balance sheet accounts
- Reconcile total endowment and annuity activity monthly and work with Reporting team to resolve variances
- Reconcile individual endowment book and market values between MDACC and UTIMCO records
- Assist with endowment revenue budget preparation and projections
- Prepare specific endowment donor financials annually and perform ad-hoc requests and reporting as needed.

Other duties as assigned

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related business speciality. Five years experience in data analysis, accounting or financial project management.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant.
