Your Role and Responsibilities
This role is located in the IBM office in Research Triangle Park. There is no remote work option (post covid). We are co-located in RTP, NC, but maintain a responsible consideration of health and safety practices - which includes ongoing support for an in-office/remote office balance during these unusual times.
There are no relocation funds for this role so you would need to relocate at your own expense.

The Test Automation Engineer sits within the Agile engineering team and plays a key role in driving the quality of the Danube RTP Team applications, as well as increasing the velocity of deployments through test automation.

The Danube RTP Test Automation Engineer works closely with the Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst, and Developers to understand user experience, work flow, expected outcomes and the definition of done, to develop a testing automation approach that addresses all aspects of the software solution. The Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of automated testing solution, including the creation, deployment, and maintenance of automation scripts. The position is also responsible for creating metrics and increasing test coverage using the automated systems. As part of an Agile team, the Test Automation Engineer plays an integral role to ensure the both the quality of the product as well as ability for the team to deliver at speed.

Job Duties:

* As a test engineer work with developers employing TDD to develop desired outcomes
* Work with Stakeholders to understand the desired function
* Work with team thru various levels of manual and automated testing
* Skills desired include: Automation Testing, Gherkin, Back end testing skills, CSS, XPATH, Agile, API testing, Postman, Serenity, Eclipse

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* 1+ years as a Test Automation Engineer with hands-on experience with automated testing tools, preferably as part of a customer-facing web app development team
* Experienced engineer as part of an Agile team in a continuous development/delivery organization
* Demonstrated ability to write test scripts and document results
* Experience with all aspects of QA testing: unit, functional, integration, end to end, user interface, smoke, performance and security testing
* Experience working with project planning and tracking tools such as RTC, Jira, Zenhub, etc.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Behavior-driven development and test frameworks
* Development in an Agile environment
