Your Role and Responsibilities

The Public Service Sector consulting practice is a trusted advisor to federal, state and local governments, partnering to meet challenges and responding quickly to citizen demands, business needs, new economic conditions, and changing legislative priorities and policies.

IBM GBS Cloud Application Innovation (CAI) Services supports a wide array of US Federal Civilian and Department of Defense clients. CAI provides cloud hosting solutions both on the IBM Cloud as well as with partners such as Microsoft. Additionally, CAI provides managed services solutions across the hybrid cloud for both IBM internal and US Federal clients. We are expanding our solution architects knowledgeable in Azure Cloud / Azure Stack Services

This exciting role focuses on architecting cloud solutions for clients as part of presales/sales interaction and via the formal Federal Acquisition / RFP process
* Much of this role is around understanding/interpreting requirements, shaping client understanding and points of view, creating compliant and differentiated solutions that are compelling and evaluated with high technical merit, ultimately resulting in award of new cloud business and successful delivery of proposed solution/architecture.
* The expectation is deep understanding of Azure Cloud and Azure for Government capabilities and broad understanding across cloud solutions in areas such as hosting, cloud migration, DevSecOps, security/accreditation, and day 2 operations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect certification
* Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) for Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
* Demonstrated I/T Services architecture / proposal experience across a portfolio (multiple accounts / clients)

3-7 years of experience with the following:

* Architecting, implementing, and managing environments within Microsoft Azure.
* To include Azure Virtual machines, Resource Manager, Service Fabric, Container Service, SQL Database, Virtual Network, DNS, and Azure Active Directory.
* Migrating client workloads into Azure from other clouds (public or private) as well as traditional on-prem solutions
* Managing client workloads across multiple regions
* Integrating Azure offerings with other monitoring tools via API
* Automating deployment and management of Azure workloads via API, integration tools.
* Managed service experience (e.g. performing systems administration, monitoring, NOC/SOC/EOC, Service Desk)
* Developing detailed technical schedules.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Experience with additional Azure services such as ExpressRoute, SQL Data Warehouse, MFA, RBAC, and Marketplace offerings
* Experience managing Azure Government and/or Azure DoD Clouds
* Familiarity with Azure Stack for private cloud
* Skills in a formal PM discipline (PMI or other PM accreditation is a plus)
* Experience with Federal Government contracts, including security compliance guidelines for NIST 800-53 moderate and high impact baselines
* Federal Secret or Top Secret Security clearance
* ITIL V3 Certification preferred
* Experience working with managed service providers on top of AWS IaaS/PaaS offerings
