DESCRIPTION

AWS is looking for Systems Development Engineer to own and build software that automates and manages the infrastructure to support XML content authoring and publishing. In this role, youll have the opportunity to contribute to various stages of the product from the front-end UI to the backend services, and database.

Roles and Responsibilities
Build and manage infrastructure to streamline XML content authoring and publishing.
Build and manage XML authoring tool configuration.
Build pipelines based on XProc (An XML Pipeline Language) to process XML documents.
Build and manage XML authoring tool integration with a content management system.
Develop XSL transformations to publish XML to HTML and PDF format.
Investigate and solve operational issues in real-time in order to maintain system uptime and performance. Investigate root cause of outages by analyzing log detail and troubleshooting issues in real-time.
Build, implement and improve service resilience and uptime. Dive deeply into system logs, and provide guidance to resolve business impacting issues with efficiency.
Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of professional software development experience.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience with web technologies (XML, HTML, HTTP, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON) and modern web frameworks such as Node.js, and React.
4+ years of experience with XSL transformations.
3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with internationalization of content using i18n extensions.
Experience using AWS services like ECS, S3, Dynamo DB, Elasticsearch, Lambda, AWS Neptune, Amazon SageMaker, and API Gateway.
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design. Experience working with Content Management Systems and/or Document Management System.Experience configuring XML authoring tools such as FontoXML is preferred. Experience with NoSQL and graph databases.
Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design and problem solving.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Experience with internationalization of content using i18n extensions.
