This position is for a Technical Writer for the Seller University Learning and Development (L&D) team.
In this role, you will work with stakeholders to ensure our content catalog is relevant, easy to consume, valuable and fresh. As a result of your efforts, Amazon Sellers will get the skills and knowledge they need to progress effectively and efficiently throughout their journey and be successful in delivering customer value. Collaborate with Technical Content, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Risk teams to support a wide range of program content. The breadth of content programs spans many areas: for example, Onboarding on Amazon, Brand Owner Toolkit, Maximizing your growth, Navigating challenges and Globalizing your business. Partner with content program managers, product managers, and content strategists to drive initiatives for achieving speed, quality, and scale.
The ideal candidate has excellent writing, editing, time management, and communication skills. You will bring a critical eye to insist on the highest standards for the seller education experience. You will follow our style guides to create clear and concise information to help sellers succeed. You will collaborate with fellow writers and internal business partners (such as program managers, UI designers, and software development engineers) to develop strategy and content. You show serious obsession for customers, and works backwards to understand their needs, and you deliver results in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. You’re able to own content projects from start to finish, understanding trade-offs while mitigating risks and measuring impact.
Key Responsibilities
· Adhering to content roadmap and guidelines, developing customer backwards content, rationalizing redundant site content, and handling asset permissions and version control.
· Contribute to the team’s efforts to raise our content standards by focusing on content structure, metadata provision, term management, and authoring style guidelines.
· Work with subject matter experts to address gaps in content coverage, asking great questions to advocate for sellers and customers.
· Support program managers in developing new mechanisms for content quality: for example, freshness, findability, and feedback mechanisms.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 3+ years as a technical writer, editor, or content strategist
· Experience managing content projects, including coordinating with other teams
· Strong bias for action and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
· Experience with content management systems and content tools
· Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, or related field, or comparable job experience
· Experience working with product and UI designers and writing UI text
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience creating external customer facing content
· Experience creating content for translation and localization; ability to speak multiples languages a plus.
· Experience working in an agile content development environment
· Experience working as part of a global team with remote colleagues
