DESCRIPTION
BigMesh Runtime team has a vision to be an abstracted, negotiated, and dynamically configurable service-to-service communication layer that will shift technical debt away from clients and service owners. We are building the foundation that will carry all Amazon micro-services into the future of service meshes and simplify the service ownership for all teams in CDO org. As a developer on this team you will gain deep expertise on SOA concepts, work with multiple PEs to solve cutting-edge problems that have never been solved before. If you are excited to design/build a platform that provides consistent, efficient and secure environment for all service teams and create Amazon wide impact, come join us!
BigMesh Runtime is a managed network execution platform, offered as a sidecar, which shifts the technical concerns of the network abstraction from the consumers to the platform. BigMesh Runtime builds an on-host sidecar that serves as a proxy for it to interact with the outside world. Service teams (or Consumers) can focus on adding business value, knowing that security, authentication, authorization, load balancing, throttling and routing just work and are always consistent with Amazon best practices. It helps reduce overhead of including multiple common libraries, manage dependencies etc by Service owners. Our Golang-based sidecar is small enough to understand it all but sophisticated enough to solve for Amazon scale distributed systems.
As a software engineer on our team, you will:
* Design and build a language-independent sidecar that can seamlessly integrate with any service at Amazon.
* Partner with key SOA providers to add load balancing, routing, throttling and more
* Enable Amazon to eliminate aging hardware-based solutions for critical network components across all our data centers
* Create an in-house service mesh for centralized traffic management and SOA policy implementation
