DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking an experienced candidate interested in disrupting global shipping, and making it seamless to move freight from source of origin to Amazon fulfillment networks around the world. The qualified candidate will bring their subject matter experience as well as their product development expertise and build transportation technology and supply chain capabilities across multiple geographies.
The Senior Manager, Ocean Transport Products is responsible for designing, developing and successfully deploying cross border transportation technologies and resilient supply chains, from pick up through delivery into Amazon fulfillment networks and 3P warehouses, connecting sources of origin with our destination nodes. This includes improving existing features, as well as developing new technologies, that deepen our supply chain capabilities, providing Sellers a one-stop-shop for shipping needs. This person is responsible for setting the vision, priorities and roadmap with partner teams across tech, business, operations and finance, taking into consideration current and future network capabilities and constraints. In addition, this person will work with business teams to understand underlying attributes that are required to meet required service levels and cost goals to drive adoption of our services. This role will be measured on ocean product development, supply chain capabilities, performance and savings.
Key deliverable for this role:
· Develop and design cross border ocean transport products and technologies to move inventory from Origins to our destination fulfillment networks.
· Design and develop Origin, Destination and Middle Mile solutions to provide an end to end experience.
· Design and Develop routing and optimization capabilities to lower cost and improve service levels.
· Prioritize and make trade-off decisions for solutions that will provide drive adoption.
· Implement solutions to manage transportation compliance requirements.
· Develop tools to manage capacity, yields and service level consistency, to meet our growing demands and needs across multiple business lines.
· Supply Chain Management and execution of existing inbound flows to balance capacity, performance and costs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelors Degree
· 7+ years of experience in product management, owning and driving end-to-end product development from concept to customer-facing launch, across multiple technology, business, and design teams.
· 10+ years experience in International Transportation (e.g. Parcel, Ocean, Air)
· 10+ years in people management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in Supply Chain management and Execution
· Experience in freight forwarding and transportation compliance requirements.
· Master degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Management, Business or other related discipline
· Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering Background
