The AWS Hardware Engineering team creates server designs for Amazons innovative web services. Our designs are industry leading in performance and operational excellence, and are critical to the success of the AWS business and the more than one million customers who use AWS today. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems, and build architecturally sound, high-quality software to enable AWS to realize critical business strategies.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an innovative self-starter. You will work with engineers across the company as well as external companies and lead the creation and delivery of test automation. You will use your broad experience designing and developing automated platforms for the creation of test environments and testing tools, leverage your programming languages and expertise in Dev Ops methodologies to create a seamless pipeline for the delivery of new hardware and firmware capabilities for AWS. What you will do: You will be a member of the automation and delivery team and will interact with engineers across the company to lead designing and developing an automated platform for the delivery and execution of tests in labs and manufacturing facilities. This platform is the basis for a automated self-serve pipeline to validate racks, servers, and storage devices to meet Amazon requirements. Platform and pipeline will be transparent with extensive logging and reporting, connected to a portal interface for user access, and integrate with a set of test execution harnesses. You will work closely with AWS engineers to automate reporting of test coverage, results, and configuration data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or 6+ years of relevant work experience
4+ years of experience coding with at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl/Python
4+ years of experience building and designing platforms or larger software applications, or CI/CD pipelines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree in Computer Science
Database design and management experience
Experience with a Dev Ops Methodologies and tools
Experience with testing methodologies (unit, Scrum)
Experience with automation methodologies and techniques
Able to work in a diverse team
Linux knowledge
Experience with automation framework design and implementation
Experience with large distributed applications with high resiliency and reliability
Software platform design and architecture experience
Meets/exceeds Amazons leadership principles requirements for this role
