The AWS Applications team builds powerful, intuitive, and market-defining business and productivity applications to help our customers stay ahead of their changing business needs, and remove the burden of undifferentiated heavy lifting that business users go through daily. We are building a new category of AWS applications that will make customer-centric technology developed to support Amazon.com available to AWS customers. These applications will leverage the power of machine learning and the large ecosystem of AWS services such as SageMaker, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, and Amazon QuickSight to provide a truly frustration-free, easy-to-use, extensible, and natural customer experience. What you will do here
Our team is growing quickly and were looking for a seasoned technical product manager to own the product strategy, development, launch, and ongoing execution for new applications. In this position, you will play a pivotal role defining product requirements, setting the go-to-market strategy, and tirelessly championing the needs of our customers. Given the breadth of these new applications, this role will require coordination across many internal and external teams and will be visible at the highest levels of the company. Youll work with our customers, partners, software vendors, and operational stakeholders to prioritize roadmap features, and spearhead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted business requirements documents.
The successful candidate must have exceptional problem solving skills, strong business judgment, and demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams. We are looking for a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new, ambiguous projects that will be industry defining. This position requires a solid technical background, and the candidate should be customer-focused with a passion for the cloud and information technology. Past experience in business applications is a plus, but not required.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
>Creating a product strategy that appeals to the unique needs and requirements of our customers
>Managing the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution
>Launching the vision, product strategy and roadmap for our products and working with key stakeholders in the company to deliver on that vision
>Defining product requirements documents based on an intimate knowledge of the specific market segments, target customers, and product
>Defining go-to-market plan and driving enablement, working to insure that sales, SAs, Pro Serve, and the partner teams have what they need to be successful
>Driving sales by enabling business development and sales teams, leading calls with key customers, creating tools to support the success, helping to identify opportunities to increase that success
>Establishing goals and reviewing metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success
>Identify new opportunities for AWS to innovate on behalf of our customers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Previous experience developing distributed systems or cloud native applications
Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating.
Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills
Experience developing cloud native applications is a plus
Meets/exceeds Amazons leadership principles requirements for this role
Meets/exceeds Amazons functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
