AWS is building a new team intent on delighting both corporate IT and their internal customers, across virtually every business vertical.
The team is a part of the AWS End User Computing category, a market segment that is growing at an incredible pace, with rapid customer adoption. As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you will have the unique opportunity to be a founding member of a new AWS service. We are inventing an entirely new service concept and you will have the opportunity to build the engineering team, lead technical design, influence product direction, work across the stack from cloud-based services to web apps, and collaborate closely with both end customers and peer teams across Amazon.
This role is posted in Seattle, WA but is open to hiring in alternate locations including Arlington, VA, Herndon, VA, the Bay Area, or New York City potentially.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of 5+ years building and developing diverse and technically deep teams, including a minimum of 2+ years of experience in managing multiple software development managers and groups
Experience defining software roadmaps to meet organizational business goals
A proven track record of shipping quality software, on-time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of management experience, including responsibility for managing multiple teams
Experience driving complex, cross-organizational projects
Experience creating and driving a bold vision
