Amazon is looking for a Finance Manager with corporate finance experience to join a unique special projects team working to build entirely new best in class products and services. Responsibilities
Our Finance team is helping to build a stand-alone new business that includes a diverse portfolio of initiatives. This role will establish and own the consolidated P&L, and develop a deep understanding of all aspects of financial planning, reporting and analytics for this business. The successful candidate will be strategic in thinking, analytical in approach, and have a demonstrated ability to influence decisions through effective communication, financial analyses, logical reasoning, and the creation of alternatives. In addition, the candidate will drive operational controllership and develop new mechanisms to drive scale, automation and efficiencies.
Key responsibilities:
· Lead our team’s efforts around financial planning and reporting, including monthly close, risks and opportunities updates, monthly and quarterly financial reviews, product line setup/metrics/reporting, headcount and operating expenses
· Lead automation and simplification efforts for financial processes to drive efficiencies (reduced efforts and cycle times) and improved insight (accuracy and metrics)
· Lead the annual OP process for the business, including establishing internal timelines, deliverables, and coordination of business VP and finance stakeholder reviews
· Act as the primary point of contact for Amazon financial processes and systems as they relate to our business
· Act as a liaison between Amazon Corporate and other FP&A and Accounting teams in support of financial planning and reporting
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
· Minimum 7 years of finance experience, OR master’s degree and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· An ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with tight deadlines and a work ethic based on a desire to exceed expectations
· Proven analytical and communication skills with an ability to articulate complex financial views to business teams
· Superior attention to detail, project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Advanced analytical skills including a demonstrated ability to develop and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving
· Experience in cross-matrixed organizations
· Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau
· MBA, MS or related advanced degree
