We seek an experienced Systems Development Engineers to ensure that our infrastructure is designed and implemented to the high standards required to maintain and enhance customer trust. You will participate in the design, build and deployment of security-focused infrastructure of many elements of AWS systems. This position will progress your career growth as a Systems Development Engineer providing many challenges and exciting opportunities as you secure AWS's systems.
Key tasks include:
· Managing Information Security server Infrastructure.
·
· Troubleshooting and resolving problems with production systems.
·
· Analyzing and improving availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security and performance of Information Security systems.
·
· Developing and maintaining operations tools.
·
· Ownership of many production components.
·
· Monitoring of production server systems, including designing and implementing automated methods to monitor those systems.
·
· Developing documentation for production systems.

On-Call Responsibility
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (related field) + 3 years of software development OR equivalent work experience of 5 years of software development without a degree
· Prior experience with Unix/Linux.
· Experience with f modern languages e.g. Python, Perl, shell scripting
· Experience with server hardware troubleshooting.
· Experience in deploying and supporting web and/or two-tier applications in a 24x7 production environment.
· Experience with network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, emphasis on routing protocols)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, emphasis on routing protocols)
· Familiarity with AWS services desirable
· Hands-on experience of working with AWS products to deliver software systems.
· Experience with distributed computing and large-scale systems.
· Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
· Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
· Awareness of cloud technologies and architecture.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
