We're looking for an outstanding Software Configuration Control Specialist who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems! You will work hard, have fun, and of course, benefit our customers everywhere!

This position requires a candidate that can operate independently in an ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in multiple engineering disciplines. This role will interface closely with System Engineers, Hardware Development Engineers, and Software Development Engineers across a broad range of technical areas to enable software configuration management mechanisms. This person will be required to articulate when gaps are identified, and propose solutions quickly.

The ideal candidate will have a balance of breadth across engineering disciplines, depth and expertise in select areas, and practical real-life experience with verification of complex systems and implementation of simulation environments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related field, or industry equivalent experience
· 6+ years of relevant work experience
· Experience in configuration management/control for an integrated hardware/software system

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MS, Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
· A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects
· Experience delivering internet of things, machine learning, or analytics software at scale
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
· Experience building frameworks for creating complex applications with simplified tools
· Experience with DO-178C Software Configuration Management
