Sourcing Contractor (contract position)

Responsibilities:

* Effectively sources private label apparel programs within TJX Product Development area by building relationships with the Agents, Vendors and Buyers.
* Negotiates prices and determines appropriate order placement based on factory capabilities, quality and delivery.
* Develops and continuously evaluates the appropriate agent/vendor/factory structure for private label apparel.
* Ensures factories are capable of producing quality garments and can meet our requirements.
* Performs special projects as assigned
* This is NOT a production position, purely sourcing.

* Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
* Extensive spread sheet proficiency including Pivot Tables is critical
* Knowledge of apparel manufacturing, including fabric, color, yarn, garment construction, fit and specifications.
* Strong ability to break down the actual cost of a garment.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* PC skills which include Microsoft Office.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work well in a team environment.
* Established relationship building skills with Buyers, agents and factories.
* Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.
* Strong organizational and follow through skills.
* Thorough understanding of fashion apparel retail merchandising.
* Strong math skills.
