Key Responsibilities:
This is an individual contributor position. The position delivers complex IT work products at agreed deadlines. The position requires some supervision but works independently on most tasks. Typical tasks and work products include:
* Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases to ensure company standards involving quality, performance, accuracy and end-user requirements are being met.
* Communicate with internal teams efficiently, articulate technical matters in written form.
* Develop and document testing standards.
* Participate in Iteration Planning meetings and prepare test strategy for each cycle.
* Participate in test requirements, test design, and test plan reviews with particular focus on matching software features to user requirements.
* Create test plans and implement test automation where possible.
* Execute test cases and report defects found in the issue tracking system.
* Track and report test coverage metrics.
* Organize and triage defects for developers.
* Accurately report out test quality metrics.
Requirements:
This position is an experienced position. The expected length of relevant prior experience beyond formal education is at least 3 years.
* Bachelors Degree (BS, BA, etc.) in Computer Science or technical discipline
* 2+ years experience in software test automation
* 2+ years experience coding automated tests in Java, Groovy or C
* 2+ years experience of BDD style frameworks and executing in Cucumber or Jbehave
* 2 + years experience with executing SQL queries and understanding the underlying structure of the most common SQL tables
* Experience using test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Katalon
* Experience using load test tools such as Jmeter or Gatling
* Experience with API testing using Postman, Insomnia
* Experience using test management software such as Xray (JIRA plug-in)
* Experience working within the Scrum/Agile framework
* Experience in documenting complex test scenarios
Other knowledge or expertise required:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
* Must be comfortable working closely with both technical and business audiences
* Time management skills, as well as the ability to be flexible and creative
* Prior experience testing aviation-related software is a plus
