CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
This position is accountable for providing managerial leadership and direction to the plant manufacturing facility, maximizing capital and human resource utilization in attaining production objectives of acceptable quality in Paint Application Process, within established cost parameters as well as customer goals in a rewarding, safe and secure climate for employees and community.
The position is also accountable for management direction of the people, materials and assets of the Plant for the purpose of producing assigned products according to the production plan and customer requirements while meeting Management Objectives of quality, service, safety, cost, output, productivity, yield and raw material control.
Finally, the position is accountable for the security and preservation of the site assets, developing and maintaining an effective staff, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maintaining beneficial relationships while working on-site with our customer. Ultimately, responsible for site operations, workforces and community and government official communications.
Principle Accountabilities:
* Provide Site leadership and ultimate responsibility for P&L
* Meeting safety goals of/for the plant.
* Providing product quality as defined by SW HQ and customer contract and maintaining ISO 9000 certification.
* Attaining service contract goals.
* Maintaining a positive working environment which promotes team success.
* Implementing capital projects and training programs to attain volume and productivity goals.
* Developing team members to achieve their goals.
* Ensuring plant is ready for unscheduled customer visits (i.e. housekeeping).
* Complying with environmental regulations.
* Balancing production objectives with finished goods inventory objectives.
* Promoting employee involvement, building a positive culture and engaged workforce.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. FORMAL EDUCATION:
1. Required:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience is required
1. Preferred:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or other related field is preferred
2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
1. Required:
5 Plus years in a Manager of Manager role. 5 plus years experience in a key leadership role at a distribution, manufacturing facility or on a Regional Operations Staff. Demonstrated leadership, team building, employee development, and employee relations skills. Strong understanding of the P& L. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Good understanding of our Supply Chain Systems, basic financial and accounting practices, as well as strong understanding of our safety systems and continuous improvement systems.
2. Preferred:
Experience managing in a 24/7 environment, VPP experience and a leadership role at a paint application facility, preferably OEM or tier 1 supplier.
3. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
Must be able to lift and carry up to __50__ pounds.
Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
Work surfaces may include concrete.
Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
4. TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* Paint line application or equipment install experience.
