This function is responsible for medical and ancillary product premium billing.

As a Senior Billing Analyst, you will be responsible for managing a group of businesses. This role requires customer interaction where you will build a rapport with the groups you support. As a Senior Billing Analyst, you will look through accounts, see what action is needed and follow through. This is a self - driven role and needs to be self - managed. You will be responsible for applying payments and completing reconciliations. The bulk of your day will be spent working with customers that choose not to pay as billed. Calls are completed to collect outstanding balances.

These are not a hard collection call, just initial outreach based on the timing of their payment or residual balances. We are asking when we can expect to see their payment or adjustments. As work is completed throughout the day you will be asked to track your tasks to monitor productivity. This information, along with quality and customer service, is used to assist with decisions around quarterly bonuses. When you start on the team you will have a mentor, and a backup right out of training. The Senior Billing Representative team is a group of about 35 people. They function as a team, attending meetings, and collaborate via group chat sessions.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Review accounts and contact customers to reconcile / resolve discrepancies and provide updates to leadership and finance team on outstanding balances
* Support customers, answering questions and providing direction as needed via phone calls and email
* Apply payments to customers' accounts
* Coordinate activities of internal business partners on behalf of the customer
* Collaborate with Finance for timely collection of premiums via customer outreach
* Support the team buy reviewing policies, and system enhancements to ensure efficiency and quality

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
* 1+ years of experience in Billing, Reconciliation, and / or Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
* Experience with Microsoft Word (creating and formatting documents) and Microsoft Excel (creating / updating spreadsheets and creating / using formulas)
* Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
* Residing in a location that can receive a high-speed internet connection (additional information on UnitedHealth Group approved internet providers and restrictions will be provided).
* If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

* 1+ years of Customer Service experience
* Experience with Microsoft Outlook (create emails / folders, set up rules, and calendar invites)
