Job Purpose/Summary:
This position is responsible for supervising all aspects of a grain elevator facility including: directing all work functions and staff in operations; training and safety; overseeing and directing facility housekeeping; ensuring regulatory and company policy compliance; driving best practices; managing and overseeing grain inventories, grading processes, and monitoring grain quality; managing and overseeing operational expenses and budgets; staffing, training, and developing team members for the facility; managing and developing customer relations and service as it relates to the facility; and purchasing grain and promoting Tyson LGS as required.
Requirements:
Education/Certifications: Knowledge and techniques normally acquired through four years of college leading to a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Preference given to educational background in Ag Business, Ag Economics, Production Agriculture, Grain Sciences, Agricultural Engineering or related degrees.
Experience: 2 plus years related experience; 4 plus years industry or people leadership experience required in the absence of a degree.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required to include proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access; knowledge of purchasing programs such as SAP, Agris, Endur, or related software preferred; knowledge of grain grading equipment, dryer controls, and electrical control systems preferred
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal written and negotiation skills required.
Special Skills: Working with numbers problem solving ability to prioritize and multi-task analytical skills.
Supervisory: This role will have direct reports on-site, including administrative and grain operations personnel.
Travel: 1-4 Trips per year outside local area. Moderate local travel including day trips several times per month.
