How will you make an impact?

In this key role, you will manage complex and strategic projects and lead the analysis and reporting of the global procurement team financial achievements within the Pharma Services Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific. You will develop partnerships with strategic (local + regional + global) manufacturing sites and the finance function, as well as the global procurement peer group to ensure achievement of the procurement financial targets and procurement projects. The scope of the role leads the financial analysis, reporting and recommendation for the function and manages the performance and progress of a wide variety of functional projects across the group.

What will you do?

Annual Operating Plan savings and value capture achievement and reporting (Key Responsibility)

Advise the Vice President of Procurement for the Pharma Services Group on all aspects of Annual Operating Plan savings and value capture

Supervise the monthly reporting of actuals and forecast pipeline project savings as well as inflation by category

Supervise to ensure site reported data aligns with data reported by finance

Ensure savings comply with global Thermo Fisher savings methodology

Coordination of monthly Pharma Services Group procurement reporting deliverables to align with finance and global Thermo Fisher procurement calendars

Lead the function through the Annual Operating Plan planning process for procurement, to include alignment with finance and corporate Thermo Fisher procurement, site standards setting, and savings project pipeline

Provide oversight to the Saving Pipeline / achievement reporting Annual Operating Plan, Forecast, and Actual monthly reporting

Collaborate and guide business unit procurement leaders and COEs on how to achieve Annual Operating Plan savings/value capture goals

Review the analysis and recommendation of pipeline

Participate in site reviews and help drive discussion on how to achieve savings and project to improve overall performance

Drive build out of multiyear pipeline opportunities

Sharing of financial systems such as Cognos / finance reporting with team for budget,

Develop, maintain oversight of and train on the process and governance for Annual Operating Plan savings and value capture

Ensure finance guidance is being applied correctly and consistently across sites and for corporate projects

Co-ordination and communication point for savings capture guidelines on key corporate projects; including alignment and communication with finance and other key stakeholders

Project pipeline monitoring for accuracy and reconciliation to official finance reported actuals

Implement and drive consistent usage of tools and templates related to savings and project management

Training and coordination with corporate procurement Annual Operating Plan savings / value capture teams

Lead the financial integration of new entities

Training and education on value capture process

Business Case Financial Analysis, review and approval

Integration point between finance and procurement to ensure Annual Operating Plan savings/value capture guidelines are applied appropriately and savings value is maximized

Liaise with corp procurement, group finance, site finance directors, supply chain directors, site procurement leads on behalf of and in conjunction with centers of excellence and business unit procurement Leads

Point of contact for other finance related requests; specific asks for information and ensuring site, business unit and corporate finance is engaged and appropriate communication takes place

How will you get there?

Education:

Bachelors degree required. MBA a plus

Experience

o 7+ years of professional experience with a minimum of 5+ years in a project management. Strong procurement experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or a manufacturing sector

o Finance and business acumen with a clear understanding of the procurement function as it relates to finance

o Capable to review and conduct financial analysis, planning and analysis as well as summary presentations

o Strong project management and communication skills

o Experience working cross-functionally with the finance function, technology, and manufacturing sites in an international environment

o Strong organization skills and with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

o Strong inter-personal and communication skills (both oral and written)

o Capable of working across different geographical demographics and cultures

o Project management experience

o Knowledge of SAP or other ERPs

o Ability to travel up to 15% on a Global Basis
