Position Summary:

This role will provide the successful applicant with immersion S/4 HANA, with opportunities to level up their expertise and soft skills, in a dynamic and exciting business environment.

As part of a global team, the SAP Sr Business Analyst will be responsible for providing functional SAP expertise in support of project work as well as day-to-day activities of the business. Initially this person will be heavily involved in leading the implementation of S4HANA in the Plasmid site in Carlsbad.

The SAP Sr Business Analyst, with the rest of the SAP team, will be accountable for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of business processes supported by the SAP system.

Requirements for this role will include estimation of time and effort to deliver enhancements for the SAP S/4 HANA instance. The role will require coordination and cooperation with colleagues and business partners locally, onshore at other sites and offshore.

The SAP Sr Business Analyst will work closely with other IT team members across the globe, to ensure that high quality solutions and enhancements are delivered in a cost-effective manner, with minimal disruption to business activities, leveraging the global resource pool, to ensure SLAs for service delivery are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Skills

* Deep expertise in SAP PP/MM/SD with a strong understanding of the QM and WM modules, preferably in a pharmaceuticals or life sciences environment.
* Broad general SAP knowledge and the ability and willingness to work outside of core expertise
* Experience configuring and/or supporting RF scanners and bar codes
* Understanding of integrations between MM/WM, PP, QM and other modules
* Experience on S/4 HANA would be beneficial but is not required
* An ability to read and debug ABAP will also be useful.
* Prepare high quality functional specifications for reports, interfaces, conversions and enhancements
* Manage unit and integration testing of enhancements and patches, including creating the documentation, running and documenting unit tests and supporting end-users performing UAT.
* Coordinate with development team, monitoring the progress of development activities and communicating status to management and relevant departments
* Work to develop and support Super Users within the business
* Exposure to Service Now would be ideal but general experience using support systems as a service provider will be helpful (service requests, incident and change management process).

* Efficient delivery and support of incident/break/fix and general production support
* The ability to focus on business requirements before configuration and configuration before development.
* Effectively manage relationships with internal business partners whether face-to-face or remote
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
* Clearly understand and interpret business requirements, describe options for resolution, and recommend an optimal solution
* Help develop and lead training sessions and workshops
* Perform well within a geographically distributed team, providing feedback or seeking support where necessary.
* Prioritize and communicate work in process to properly manage workload

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Project Management, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience acceptable
* 7 years of ERP project execution and/or support experience
* Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization, with multiple business partners and IT colleagues, locally and remotely
* Proven ability to creatively solve problems in a complex business environment
* Ability to set expectations, explain and champion detailed technical concepts to peers, management and business partners
* A proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to identify and mitigate risks before they become issues
* Demonstrable experience using technology to work effectively with multiple groups around the globe
* Strong negotiation/persuasion and analytical skills
