Job Description

Raytheon is seeking a qualified Multi-Disciplinary Engineer to participate in all phases of the program execution with the ability to conceive, develop, test, modify, integrate and deploy tactical communications system hardware, software and networks. The ideal candidate will have a background integrating and deploying hardware systems to include wired and wireless networking equipment, and a theoretical and operational knowledge of RF communications systems. The Engineer will work in a fast paced, small team environment and will support laboratory system integration and test and CONUS and OCONUS deployment and operator training.
Job Responsibilities
Design, integrate and test new hardware-based system solutions to meet customer specifications or in-house project requirements, and participate in all aspects of development from initial planning to production
Analyze design plans and project requirement data to create comprehensive testing procedures to verify that components and features operate correctly and meet operational benchmarks
Coordinate with developers, project managers, engineering team and quality assurance personnel to resolve technical issues during development, testing and production
Oversee development of operational prototypes, verify compliance with design plans and testing procedures
Ensure new hardware systems and equipment work correctly with computer software programs and networks according to performance requirements, and modify hardware as necessary to address errors and other concerns
Required Skills:

* Multi-disciplinary engineering skills
* Mechanical ability (experience with equipment installations in lab and field, RF and computer systems, etc.)
* Knowledge of routing and protocols common in LAN/WAN networks
* Experience integrating and testing hardware systems and applications in fixed and / or mobile platforms or operational sites
* Base knowledge of software (Linux shell, Windows command line, ability to alter configuration files)
* Ability to respond quickly to customer demands/needs i.e. troubleshooting, materials acquisition, QRC field support.
* Troubleshooting ability; hardware, software, and networking
* Ability to travel 10-15% and possibly at short notice (CONUS / OCONUS)
* Strong written and oral communications skills, to include development of internal and deliverable technical documentation (build documents, training materials, etc)
* Experience with RF and networking testing equipment and applications (Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, jperf, WireShark, etc)
* TS/SCI security clearance
* Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
* Self-motivated with exceptional critical thinking and analytical abilities
* Innovative, results-oriented problem solver

Desired Skills

* RF knowledge (link budgets, resonance, wave propagation, antenna design, etc.)
* Proficiency in foreign languages (Spanish and/or Arabic)
* Tactical radio experience (military or engineering) with various manufacturers' radio products
* Ability and experience developing training materials for operational users
* Ability and experience developing training curriculum and schedules (tasks, conditions, standards)
* Program experience in development and deployment of virtualization infrastructure, to include data center hardware integration, virtual machine environment configuration and deployment
* Laboratory responsibilities, to include lab management and use of lab test equipment

Education: Bachelor's Degree and 4 years related work experience.
