Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to join the Flight System Team to perform GN amp;C Analysis. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
What You rsquo;ll Get To Do:
The individual in this role will perform extensive analysis and define acceptable performance of the GN amp;C system from Preliminary Design phase to a Critical Design Review and beyond. The role includes driving the maturation of vehicle and GN amp;C derived requirements to meet key performance goals. The individual will be responsible for the development and management of models, simulations, tools, and data required to validate system performance. The individual will be responsible for the communication of analysis results to internal and external customers and driving changes to the GN amp;C system and vehicle based upon analysis results, as required. The individual must be capable of performing in a highly dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities. This position reports directly to the GN amp;C Analysis and Algorithms Lead and receives direct tasking from the GN amp;C Analysis and Performance Lead.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
bull;Bachelor 39;s degree in Mathematics, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field and 9 years of experience with a bachelor 39;s degree; 7 years with a master 39;s degree; or 4 years 39; with a PhD
bull;Extensive knowledge and experience modeling, simulating, and analyzing aerospace vehicles and subsystems.
bull;Experience in test case definition to validate requirements in nominal and stressing conditions.
bull;Experience and familiarity with high accuracy inertial measurement system modeling and analysis
bull;Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a special access clearance
bull;Extensive knowledge and experience using MATLAB/Simulink and C++
Preferred Qualifications:
bull;Knowledge of launch vehicle and/or strategic missile guidance, navigation, and control principles from guidance system turn-on, ground operations, through launch and payload insertion
bull;Extensive experience using Monte Carlo analysis techniques to determine vehicle performance under uncertainty
bull;Experience in error covariance analysis methods
bull;Excellent communication skills
bull;Experience and knowledge in principles of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
bull;Experience working in an Agile team or even leading a scrum team
bull;Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming principles
