Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Materials and Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA within the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE) organization.

The position is for a 4-10 (Monday - Thursday) second shift position.

The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and developing materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.

The candidate will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to investigate material issues and provide solutions.

The candidate be responsible for new conceptual layouts, detailed engineering designs of structural composites, modifications, integration of advanced materials, drawing reviews, and performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications and manufacturing plans in a team environment with other engineering organization.

Qualifications
Note: This position can be filled at an Engr Matl Process or Principal Engr Matl Process level.

Basic Qualifications for an Engr Matl Process:
- Bachelor 39;s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or other STEM degrees along with 2+ years 39; engineering experience; or MS in STEM along with 0+ years 39; engineering experience.
- Experience working with pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engr Matl Process:
- Bachelor 39;s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or other STEM degrees along with 5+ years 39; engineering experience; or MS in STEM along with 3+ years 39; engineering experience.
- Experience working with pre-pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; Fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master 39;s degree or PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science Degree or other STEM degree.
Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports.
5+ years of aircraft/spacecraft design experience, including material testing and qualification efforts, detailed drawing reviews, and supporting build.
Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.
Experience working on military aircrafts.
