Job Summary
The Practice Valuation Manager is responsible for conducting and overseeing collection, categorization and analysis of data related to the potential new physician employees within HMH Specialty Physician Group (HMSPG) and Houston Methodist Primary Care Group (HMPCG). The Manager is responsible for oversight of compensation and contracting changes within HMSPG and HMPCG existing staff members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and builds financial models and performs financial and valuation analysis.
-Works collaboratively with Regional and Department Administrators to facilitate timely and accurate valuations of physician practices for HMSPG and HMPCG
- Manages the proforma creation and approval process, including coordination of approvals with administrators and executive leadership
- Manages relationship with third party companies for purposes of reviewing compensation packages for physicians.
- Liaises with executive leadership to provide updates on the status of new recruiting or renewal projects.
- Participates in and/or leads client meetings and interacts with physician clients to gather data.
- Analyzes provider activity data and provide summaries based on coding patterns including identifying potential coding risks.
- Reviews financial statements including tax returns and profit and loss statements and building expense profiles for the practice.
- Compares practice operations to existing internal and external benchmarks and make recommendations for cost control opportunities.
- Reviews compensation for employed physicians and compares against productivity, compensation, and collection benchmarks.
- Serves as a liaison with Department Administrators in the process of reviewing and making recommendations on customized strategies for physician compensation.
- Formulates and presents opinions and solutions to senior leadership and defends position(s) when necessary.
- Conducts periodic reviews of the physician valuation process for purposes of recommending and making improvements to that process.
- Trains new administrators on practice evaluation processes.
- Supervises financial analysis staff and directs work activities as applicable.
- Responsible for coordinating the annual evaluations of applicable employees.
- Demonstrates the components of the ICARE values statement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
BBA, BS or BA with a major in Accounting, Finance, Health Care Administration, or related degree is required. MBA or Masters degree in Health Care Administration preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires five years financial experience in health care, insurance and/or business industry with some leadership experience preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Experience with Excel and Access software.
- Strong analytical and database skills.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate data and financial reports to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the organization.
- Must be an independent thinker.
- Must be detail oriented and should be able to develop an understanding of the data import/reimbursement calculation process as designed in-house as well as through third-party vendor software programs.
- Ability to work under pressure and balance many competing priorities.
- Proficient in spreadsheet, word-processing and presentation software.
- Ability to support teamwork and maintain a positive and supportive attitude.
- Professional handling of exposure to confidential/sensitive information.
