Job Summary

Dominion Energy - WV (Hope Gas) is seeking a Pipeline Field Specialist - Start for our Madison City Plant located in Danville, WV. This position will require the successful candidate to report to calls within a 60 min time frame.

The Pipeline Field Specialist Start will perform skilled duties and operate equipment related to the operation, maintenance and installation of a natural gas piping system and natural gas facilities. They will also assist in the construction, operation, and maintenance of a gas distribution, transportation or production system. They will perform ditch digging, backfilling, carrying tools and material connected with the job, as well as meter reading. These duties will be performed either individually or with a crew.

The typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional overtime. Some extended days required for emergencies and opportunity for some possible weekend overtime.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

6 months documented experience in any one or combination of the following: natural gas field work, pipeline work, construction, excavation, laborer or line locating.

Most possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Must be able to operate a 90 pound jackhammer.

Must be agile and able to walk up to 10 miles per day on variable pipeline terrain (hills, steep slopes, strams, rock, brush, wood areas, etc.) and have the ability to operate various types of equipment (ex. handheld reading device, wrenches and tools, etc.) weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to load and carry equipment (5-90 pounds) to site (0-2) miles away.

Must be able to and expected to respond to emergency call out and work overtime.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Ability to work independently and as a crew member.

Ability to understand and comply with all safety rules, practices policies.

Documented computer experience.

Preferences:

Previous natural gas and/or oil industry experience.

Experience operating a backhoe.
