The Opportunity

The Sr Analyst, Consumer Data will be responsible for reviewing and performing the hands-on work required to convert existing data in a Hadoop ecosystem into robust, analytics-ready data sets. This includes working directly with the team's technology business partners to ensure code optimization and standard methodologies are followed. Additionally, the position will involve learning and understanding upstream data pipelines and source systems in part to assist with new developments and testing. The role will work in conjunction with analytics teammates to lay the data foundations for analytics tool development, understand the business context of all work items, and actively maintain the portfolio of improvement logic/code and data processes.

The Work Itself

* Support the Sr. Director of Consumer Data & Insights in delivering analytics data solutions which span different data platforms, such as Hadoop, AWS, Oracle, and DB2, etc.
* Work with internal and external partners to support defining and implementing business and IT vision and roadmaps for data solutions across all functional business areas (Finance, Product, Digital, Deposits, Customer Care, and Invest, etc.)
* Partner with key Consumer Data SMEs within the team as well as IT Architecture and Design teams on data solutions ensuring consistent use of coding standards and patterns and on the data transformation initiative to re-design existing data
* Help to build out robust analytics data management practices, including data quality and governance, data cataloging and reference data supporting the Consumer Analytics teams
* Act as a technical resource on the team on the use of standard methodologies and iterative testing to ensure requirements are met

The Skills You Bring

A well-qualified candidate will have the following attributes:

* 5+ years of hands-on experience in working with large data sets, with a focus on data development, data quality control, and process improvement.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or the like (STEM)
* Knowledge of writing Sophisticated SQL to large databases (Impala, Hive, etc.) is required
* Familiarity with data environments (Hadoop, AWS data lake, Snowflake, etc.) and how to best utilize the platform to perform data engineering work and value logic development supporting a diverse analytics team
* Solid grasp of R, Python, SAS, or similar data manipulation/analytics software packages
* Experience in any of the following are preferred but not required: Spark (PySpark, sparklyr), Cloudera Data Science Workbench, Anaconda, Jupyter, RStudio, and commonly used Data Science/Machine Learning algorithms
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skill with attention to details
* Hands-on knowledge of getting work done via the Agile framework using Scrum and/or Kanban
