Responsibilities:

* Work closely with BAs, development team, QA, and design leads, turning user stories into business deliverables.
* Learn, follow and promote Agile practices like Scrum and TDD/BDD
* With some guidance, research and evaluate solutions, and recommend/develop/test the most efficient and cost effective solution to meet business requirements that conforms to The Hartfords coding standards.
* With some guidance, help create verification methods and procedures and participate in systems testing.
* Debug and troubleshoot defects.
* With some guidance, develop technical documentation for various project deliverables and phases.
* Have a keen focus on development modernization by embracing latest technologies and practices and taking initiative to research and learn.

Qualifications:

* Computer Science undergraduate degree with co-op, internship or early career experience.
* Basic programming experience outside of the classroom.
* Demonstrated evidence of technical/analytical and logic-based problem solving skills.
* Self-motivation, good judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Technologies:

* Java, Gosu,SQL,XML,XSD, RESTful APIs, Spring, JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS and React, CSS (bootstrap)
* Jenkins, UDeploy, Nexus, ANT/Maven,Github
* Junit, Mockito and cucumber
* Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL database
* Exposure to AWS is a plus
