Job Description

Job Title: Body Shop Maintenance Group Leader

Factory ZERO is currently seeking a motivated and accomplished Body Shop Maintenance Group Leader who will provide technical knowledge and leadership support to the Body Shop maintenance department.

This position is 6th / 7th level lateral opportunity

Description

As the Maintenance Group Leader, you are responsible for operations, maintenance and repair of plant equipment. You will oversee a medium to large size group of employees in a skilled area of work. Work requires the ability to make decisions and using independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing System (GMS); focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

Responsibilities:

* Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping. Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
* Create a highly engaged team
* Develop and execute applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
* Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training) / SOPs / Flex Charts
* Responsible for ensuring proper training, development and evaluation of team members to promote highly effective teams.
* Supervise medium/large team in maintenance activities and project
* Responsible for diagnosis of equipment malfunctions
* Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
* Implements safety and good housekeeping practices
* Comply with divisional and Corporate policies
* Support terms of local and national labor agreements
* Maintain a good working relationship and communicate across all team members and departments
* Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
* Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
* Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
* Prepare reports and make recommendations for improving body operations and solving maintenance related problems
* Work with product & production teams in process supporting business plan S,P,Q,R,C,E goals
* Meet business metrics and continuously improve Maintenance Cycle Between Failure/Maintenance Time to Respond (MCBF/MTTR) using TIP (Throughput Improvement Plan)
* Complete administrative tasks such as timekeeping and maintains departmental records and reports.

Qualifications:

Required

* Minimum of 3 years of related maintenance experience
* Experience with Body Shop processes and equipment
* Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex
* Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
* Proven project management and communication skills
* Knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts
* Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area
* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse/cross-functional teams as well as mentor, motivate and elicit work output from peers and other team members.
* Ability to handle multiple priorities
* Ability to coach/mentor/develop team members

Preferred

* Bachelors degree in a technical field (Mechanical, Electrical)
* Experience with SAP and MAXIMO
* Experience with Teamcenter
* Experience with Kronos
