Job Description

As an IT Business Analyst on the EH&S IT team you will design, test, enhance and maintain software supporting the global EH&S function within PPG. This includes the automated generation and maintenance of documents related to PPG products, such as safety data sheets (SDS), labels, and transport classifications. You will serve as business analyst and/or project leader for various initiatives in the EH&S area by working with our customers to translate business requirements into functional specifications.

Key Responsibilities

* Proficiency in writing business and functional requirements for application development including performing feasibility studies, translating requirements into an appropriate and user-friendly functional design, and coordinating development activities.
* Ability to identify barriers to meeting goals, and to provide solutions to keep projects on track and within budget.
* Propose innovative solutions and prepare thorough, detailed specifications used as input to application development.
* Develop test cases and test programming code, and s/he will often provide technical consulting support on projects or system issues.
* Teammate who possesses good mentoring skills and regularly coaches other team members, in addition to receiving and accepting feedback.
* Shares responsibility to ensure timely / in-full product delivery, which requires a clear understanding of expectations and capabilities as well as the ability to act effectively as a team member.

Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline
* Minimum of 2 years of IT industry experience with systems analysis and/or programming
* Experience with EH&S systems, EH&S terminology, and compliance regulations is preferred
* Experience with various project management methodologies such a waterfall and agile
* Experience with SQL queries and database concepts
* Sporadic weekend and off-hour support is required
