Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Construction Solutions Services Buildings Solutions Specialist includes managing territorial technical and marketing strategy and tactics, as directed, to positively influence the use of steel for building design and construction in the marketplace, specifically as it relates to Nucors product offerings. The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
1. Proactively develop strategic relationships in the architecture, engineering, contractor and owner communities within the priority territory to influence projects that may not be competitively considering steel as a viable option, with a priority towards Nucor product offerings for buildings.
2. Speak on a regional and local level as a trusted authority on steels role in vertical construction while displaying general construction marketplace expertise. This will include gathering and communicating competitive information and market analytics for forecasting purposes in the building marketplace in cooperation with CSS leadership and peers.
3. Willingness to develop presentation content and host targeted industry events within territory to build brand and increase Nucors presence in the design and construction communities.
4. Actively engage in efforts to increase steels building market share growth via both participation and leadership positions in territorial trade associations, technical committees, and decision-maker-led cohorts (AISC, AISI, SEA, AIA, AGC and others) which will influence the current and next generation of decision-making professionals.
5. Utilize internal and/or external technical resources to create conceptual project studies for the design and construction industry showcasing the benefits of steel over competitive materials. Leverage collaboration between Nucor divisions to provide enhanced solution offerings for conceptual project studies.
6. Work with Manager of Building Solutions to explore competitive threats to the steel market for vertical construction within territory, identifying specific challenges while developing and executing a long-term strategy to combat those threats.
7. dentify future trends and opportunities for growth in market sectors and individual product offerings to enhance the value that Nucor delivers to the marketplace.
8. Leverage CRM to quantify and measure all activities executed to assess long-term success and viability of efforts for both technical and market promotion to key decision makers.
9. Utilize marketing communications tools to maintain email/web/video/social media campaigns targeting individuals identified as decision makers for building solutions within territory as defined in department and corporate media strategy goals and objectives.
10. Build a collaborative relationship with sales managers (as prioritized) for key customer collaboration both individually and at the fabricator association level for aligned relationship management to support their sales roles and complement our CSS priorities.
11. This position will require travel as necessary and can be located in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles or the Dallas Fort Worth area. This position will report to the Manager of Building Solutions Construction Solutions Services.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architecture related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in steel design or construction.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Professional Engineer (PE) or Architecture (AIA) license.
2. Masters degree.
3. Knowledge base of the local construction market and its customers; with a focus on engineers, architects and building owners.
4. Proficiency with CRM solutions as a tool to track and manage leads, contacts and accounts as a measurement of short and long-term success metrics.

The Steel Mills segment produces hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and galvanized sheet steel products; plate steel products; wide-flange beams, beam blanks, and H-piling and sheet piling products; bar steel products, such as blooms, billets, concrete reinforcing and merchant bars, and special bar quality products. It also engages in the steel trading and rebar distribution businesses.
This segment sells its products to steel service centers, fabricators, and manufacturers in automotive, energy, agricultural, heavy equipment, and transportation sectors. The Steel Products segment offers hollow structural section steel tubing products, electrical conduits, steel joists and joist girders, steel decks, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel products, cold finished steel products, steel fasteners, metal building systems, steel grating and expanded metal products, and wire and wire mesh products to general contractors, fabricators, distributors, and manufacturers.
This segment also engages in the piling distribution business. The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.
