To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accountants, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide making the impossible happen every single day.
As Nike Logistics Systems (NLS) Director for Nikes 3PL network with multi-category facilities located across multiple locations in North America you will establish the vision and strategic direction for the operations NLS program. Together with the Logistics Leadership teams, you will translate business and market directions into pragmatic growth and innovation plans in logistics. You will drive relevant logistics initiatives to increase our efficiencies while enhancing our service offering, enabling the best value proposition for our customers. Innovative logistics concepts are deployed across the operation in partnership with Nike Operations and our 3PL strategic partners. You will develop and grow the NLS capabilities and its people in a way that the team can efficiently support this strategic transformation. The NLS Director reports directly to the Senior Director of NA NLS and dotted-line into the General Manager of 3PL operations, both members of the NA Leadership team.
Key Accountabilities:
Visioning: Imagining the future logistics system. Communicating that preferred future in a way that inspires others to move toward it.
Team Management: Leading, managing, driving and inspiring the NLS team and our partners to ensure we deliver NLS in all logistics functions in full on time, with focus on safety, quality and productivity, within a climate of commitment, flexibility and continuous process improvement.
Communication Management: Developing a communication strategy and action plan that will enable people to feel connected with the NLS roll out. The NLS communication builds trust and a true understanding. Both internal employees and Nike Business Partners know where we're going, believe it is the right place to go and know what to do to help get there. Ensure that the whole plan is executed according to timelines and deliverables.
Transition Management: Helping an organization and all teammembers to make the transition from current state to the future with minimal business disruption.
Deliver Results: Managing and supporting resources in a way that the team can effectively make progress towards clear expectations, goals.
Technical and professional knowledge: Adding value to Nike by contributing skills and expertise in Logistics & SC management, Retail and Lean Thinking.
Problem Solving and good judgment: Using a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information and generating options. Deciding on a course of actions that moves the organization towards its actions.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE:
* 4-6 years relevant working experience at a senior level in a large organization with a complex business environment
* A deep understanding of Lean and TPS
* Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management theory and best practices.
* Demonstrated track record of delivering results (quality, time, budget) on large global or regionally based projects
* Strong networking skills and a proven track record in working within a multi-team environment and delivering change through solid project management.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken) to all layers in the organization
* Preferences:
* Footwear and Apparel Experience
* Lean and/or TPS background
* Educational Background
* BS of Business, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Applied Economics or similar degree is required
* MBA is preferred
