As a Data Domain Architect, you will be part of a key program to onboard multiple systems, spanning different products across the Securities Services line of business, onto a single strategic data platform. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with source systems to interrogate their data models and data structures in order to understand and document how they represent various products and asset types, including trades, asset servicing / corporate actions, cash movements, positions / balances, ETFs, securities lending, collateral, custody and fund accounting, and related trading services.
As part of your role, you will be tasked with understanding different systems data models, performing exploratory data analysis and profiling, documenting your findings, engage developers to remediate data quality issues, and helping in the data mapping exercise from physical to logical data models.
In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must be highly collaborative, a clear and concise communicator both verbally and in writing, have the ability to deal with a vast amount of detail and also be able to distill that information for a wider audience. While not mandatory, domain knowledge in financial services such as post-trade processing will be highly beneficial. Similarly, previous working experience in data warehousing programs will also be viewed favorably.
A key part of this role will be to perform data profiling and data quality analysis, including but not limited to:
* statistical profiling of various attributes to understand data value distribution
* identification of data anomalies, outliers, and data quality issues
* correlation analysis to understand where and why data anomalies and outliers occur
* mapping of source system attributes to a common data dictionary and logical data models
* mapping of end-user data requirements to a common data dictionary
* aiding developers on source systems and the strategic data platform with data mapping exercises and requirements
* answer data queries from business and operations users
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
* Minimum of 3 years of related work experience; 5+ years preferred
* Experience in data profiling and data quality analysis
* Highly proficient in SQL with at structured approach to data interrogation with a focus on descriptive and statistical data analysis
* Proficient in Excel and/or various analytical tools such as Tableau or QlikSense
* Strong communication skills
* Domain knowledge in financial services preferred
* Basic analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to understand business and technical functions, process information quickly and assess impacts to data elements
