Job Summary:
The Cloud Solution Architect for AdTech Systems will architect, design, and prototype complex, scalable, and robust cloud services to deliver the next generation AdTech platform at iHeartMedia. The successful execution of this role will combine passion for technical innovation, quick prototyping skills, rapid iteration and delivery and accountability for the quality, availability and performance of applications.
Business Responsibilities:
* Support the implementation and contribute to the global enterprise vision for our AdTech systems as well as related systems and third-party services.
* Build and maintain microservices for functionality such as radio content management, inventory and scheduling, and billing.
* Contribute to make/buy decisions and vendor selection activities.
* Manage the end to end lifecycle of a product / service (Development, Test, Deploy, Support).
* Collaborate with technical and operational peers across iHeartMedia to ensure that our technical direction and approach aligns vertically throughout the technology stack.
* Keep abreast of industry standards and ensure we are driving those that are important to us and aligned with others as appropriate.
* Ensure high levels of operational discipline and high availability for AdTech systems.
* Perpetuate a data-driven culture with high standards of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Technical Responsibilities:
* Decompose and modernize existing iHeart applications into microservices in cloud-based environments.
* Lead and influence the secure design of new components and technology within the organization that will guide software delivery.
* Align with the InfoSec team to implement and influence security decisions and principles.
Qualifications:
* Must have a passion for technology and problem-solving
* Able to work individually and with a distributed team
* Experience in an agile development environment (Scrum or Kanban)
* Strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and user experience.
* Excellent communication skills with an ability to develop drawings and documentation to communicate complex problems and solutions to both engineers and non-engineers.
* Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies.
* Experience building and deploying cloud systems with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
* Experience using Containers and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
* Experience designing and building interfaces (APIs) and custom protocols.
* Experience designing and building event-driven microservice-oriented cloud architectures.
* Experience developing new products and technology with an agile team.
* Experience building real-time interactive integrated systems.
* Ability to work across multiple disciplines (systems, embedded, cloud web, mobile, testing).
Required experience with the following technologies:
* Java / Spring / Spring Boot, JUnit / TestNG
* Node.js / Express, Jasmine
* JavaScript / Typescript / AngularJS, Jasmine / Karma / Protractor
* MySQL / Cassandra / Postgres
* Jira, Pivotal Tracker / Trello
* Cloud service platforms such as: AWS / Google Cloud / Azure / OpenStack
* Git / GitHub
Recommended experience with one or more of the following sets of technologies:
* NoSQL Databases like Cassandra, or MongoDB
* CI/CD pipeline configuration management and automation software Chef, Ansible, or Jenkins,
* Log aggregation and monitoring software like ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana), or Splunk
* Message queueing software like RabbitMQ, or Kafka
* Swagger / REST Docs / RAML
Experience:
* 10+ years experience delivering software in an agile software organization
* 5+ years using cloud IaaS or PaaS products
* 10+ years coding and delivering high quality software as a developer
