The Renewable Power Group (RPG) is a rapidly growing team which invests client capital in clean energy assets, including solar, storage and wind. The team sits within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) Credit Alternatives, a boutique investment platform with approximately $8 billion under management. RPG benefits from an experienced team of industry veterans and significant financial backing, which has resulted in meaningful growth since the team was founded in 2017. We have long-term plans to be among the worlds largest owners and operators of clean energy assets, and are therefore looking to hire an Associate/Vice President to support the teams financial planning and analysis efforts.
YOUR IMPACT
You will play an instrumental role on the team sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and managing investments in renewable energy assets. You will be given significant responsibility across the full deal lifecycle, and be exposed to high-profile transactions within a growing, entrepreneurial business.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Goldman Sachs Renewable Power (GSRP) Market Policy Associate/VP will work in a fast-paced environment delivering results for cross-functional projects. In this role, the candidate will support GSRP operations and asset management by completing activities including but not limited to:
* Represent GSAM on ISO committees engaging on market rules relevant to the value of portfolio assets, including the treatment of solar and storage in capacity, ancillary services, and energy markets
* Manage relationships with industry organizations across multiple state renewable programs and federal policies.
* Work with Commercial team to identify risks and opportunities in state-level policies relevant to the value of the environmental attributes of portfolio projects
Preferred Qualifications
* 3-5 years managing external stakeholder relationships with state-level utility commissions and ISOs
* Great organizational skills and attention to detail; able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate technical information and strategic goals
* Proactive and forward-thinking attitude and creative problem-solving ability
* A motivated self-starter who can work independently in a fast paced, entrepreneurnial environment
