Job Description



A summer research internship is available in the Department at the Foster City, CA, campus of Gilead Sciences. The candidate should be enrolled in an Undergraduate/Graduate Program with good academic records. The student should have proficiency of the English language in writing and communication. Self-motivated, solid ethical decision-making skills, adaptable to change. Preferred candidate should have programming experience in SAS. Proven problem solving and data processing skills and show an interest in the biotechnology industry.
Responsibilities and Functions:
Under general supervision, the intern will contribute to on-going study related projects by reviewing mapping specification, generating supporting documents for programming and perform quality checks for submission package. Testing and documenting macros and template programs developed for submission package. Participates in validation of SAS datasets using Pinnacle 21 tool and provide feedback to the study team.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
Must be at least 18 years old
Graduate student in the or related field enrolled in an accredited university/college; including enrollment in the Fall Semester after completing the internship
Ability to complete 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and September
Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required
Proficient in at least one programming languages such as SAS
Experience in Data manipulation and integration, relational databases, and statistics.
Ability to understand clinical trial design and scientific literature.
