Job Description
Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Performs Blood Gas collection and analyzation. Maintains invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilators. Performs a variety of Respiratory Therapy related tasks. Reports to the Cardiopulmonary Director. Requires an associate's degree and a credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) licensure. Expected to maintain CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
* Clear Florida Respiratory License in good standing.
* Required Education: Requires an associate's degree and a credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
* Certification Requirements: Current American Heart Association BLS Certification prior to hire. ACLS and PALS within 60 days of hire.
* Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders.
* Collects and analyzes blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function.
* Manages BIPAP and Ventilator machines.
* Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
* Reports to Department manager.
