POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Pharmacist-Compounding monitors and assures compliance to State and Federal Rules and Regulations, FDA requirements, manufacturer contractual Adverse Event and Product Complaint clinical requirements and completes general Quality Assurance Checks.

Responsible for processing compounded prescriptions and overseeing pharmacy technicians pursuant to USP chapters 795, 797 and 800. Flexibility with cross training to support other pharmacy fulfillment work as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Interpret physicians or prescribers prescriptions.
* Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
* Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management, or train less experienced pharmacists.
* Performs prescription verification or compounding if needed.
* Monitors technician compliance to quality, service and production standards.
* Assures adherence to state and federal standards including USP <795>, <797>, and <800>
* Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Graduate of ACPE Accreditation School of Pharmacy with a B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D., degree.
* 1-2 years relevant compounding experience preferred.
* Current resident pharmacist license in good standing.
* Willingness to obtain out-of-state pharmacy licenses, PA & FL.
* Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
* Strong focus on customer service, quality and accuracy.
* Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines.
* Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times.
* Willingness to travel <5% of time for business continuity and training.
