Job Summary
The Manager, Operations Support and Dispatch, is a member of the Solutions Hub team in OptiFreight Logistics. The main function of this team is to design, implement, operate, and manage comprehensive logistics solutions for healthcare systems and related customer organizations. The Manager plays a key role in leading and developing team members and overseeing operations activities including transportation service provider development and management, service delivery and performance, and customer experience management.
Primary Responsibilities
* Participates in the development of business function strategic planning
* Develops and executes plans to implement strategic priorities
* Participates in Transportation solution and customer service and support process development and improvement activities
* Responsible for the successful delivery / execution of comprehensive logistics services
* Oversees the identification and development of a portfolio of transportation service providers
* Monitors and reports the effectiveness of team activities and results through the review of metrics, KPIs, volume/financial reports, and leadership meetings
* Establish customer-oriented service level targets; develop, implement, and continually improve processes for monitoring and measuring service performance
* Proactively resolves field service issues by working with customers, transportation service providers, and internal stakeholders
* Plans and executes the training and development for direct reports; completes regular touch base and performance discussions with team members
* Supports the resolution of escalated issues
* Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned
Qualifications
* High school diploma required
* Bachelor's degree preferred
* 3-5 years experience in transportation planning or shipping activities preferred
* 3+ supervisory/management skills
* Prior experience in customer service/ support
* Prior process improvement, management and/or implementation experience
* Experience or knowledge working within TMS (Transportation Management System)
* Strong communication skills
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
