The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a motivated, talented Lead Structural Analysis Engineer to join the MWS Mechanical Engineering team located in Huntsville, AL.

The Missiles and Weapons Systems (MWS) organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The programs that we support in Huntsville, Alabama include Ground-based Midcourse Defense, Next Gen Interceptor, precision-guided munitions, and Integrated Air & Missile Defense products (PAC-3, Avenger, ABMD); Missile Defense Agency National Team (Systems Engineering, C2BMC), and Strategic Deterrence Systems (which includes Minuteman ICBM support and guidance system repair).

Position Responsibilities Include:

* Plan and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements
* Develop, integrate and document complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design
* Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
* Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product
* Work with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met
* Review and approves certification results
* Develop test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
* Define and organize test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
* Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
* 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
* Experience working both independently and in team environments

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Experience applying engineering processes and principles
* Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation
* Experience with complex systems development and integration
* Experience modeling or simulating complex systems

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
