Senior Tax Associate - Global Tax Accounting

This position is part of our Corporate Functions and is located in Troy, Michigan.

Summary:

Primary responsibilities include preparation and review of quarterly and annual Global and U.S. tax provision calculations as well assist with federal, state, and international tax compliance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assisting with global tax accounting consolidation including overall company effective tax rate and tax balance analysis as well as assisting with drafting the tax footnotes.
* Prepare quarterly global uncertain tax position rollforward, valuation allowance analysis, accruals for unremitted earnings, and deferred taxes on equity compensation.
* Review of foreign entity tax provision submissions and serve as a resource for local market tax provision questions.
* Ensure and document that quarterly and annual tax accounting and tax compliance procedures comply with required SOX control objectives.
* Support the U.S. federal and state tax compliance processes including the return-to-provision analysis.
* Preparation of the quarterly and annual U.S. federal and state tax provisions and projections including rolling forward deferred tax accounts and income tax liabilities.
* Provide assistance with U.S. federal and state tax planning projects.
* Special projects, as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
* CPA
* 4+ years tax experience within the tax function of a multinational publicly-traded corporation and/or public accounting firm, with US GAAP tax accounting exposure

Preferred Requirements:

* Masters degree in tax or other advanced degree
* Knowledge of accounting and consolidations systems (SAP, HFM) and tax reporting software (OneSource)
* Background in U.S. federal and state tax laws
* Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact well with people of various backgrounds and levels.
* Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines for tax compliance and US GAAP reporting needs.
* Strong organizational skill to ensure ability to prioritize workload and manage a number of projects at any one time.
