Summary:

Job Family Summary

Drives enterprise architecture solutions, framework, roadmap, program optimization and process engineering in a high-velocity culture by introducing technology, requirements, deliverables, gaps and systems design. Analyzes competitive strategies, architecture frameworks, metrics models, and performance indicators. Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Contributes to robust and innovative strategic solutions and builds resilient support for next-generation systems to solve business challenges and enhance the technical environment.


Job Description:

* Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
* Leads others to solve complex problems.
* Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
* May lead functional teams or projects.

Primary Accountabilities

* Accountable for enterprise solution level architecture across technologies and platforms supporting a particular channel, line of business or enterprise function.
* Design, architect, develop, integrate, and test architecture frameworks.
* Develops architecture strategies (statements of position/direction, principles, reference architectures, etc.) that align to the company's business strategy and influence enterprise technology directions.
* Research, engineering, and integration of new solutions. Applies service-oriented architecture principles to meet the organizations integrity and availability requirements. Performs issue resolution and triage, including determining scope, urgency, and potential impact. Makes recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
* Design, develop, and maintenance of the enterprise architecture frameworks, systems and solutions.
* Analyzes architecture portfolios (applications, information, and/or technology) to assess opportunities for improvement and identify changes needed to meet strategic business needs.
* Develops policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of technology within the organization.
* Partner collaboratively with product teams to ensure solutions deliver customer value.
* Transforms business requirements into technical specifications. Designs and develops system/architecture measures to ensure frameworks are fully integrated. Validates current and future-state architectural models to assess impact across all technology systems.
* Establishes process, procedures, solutions and artifacts based on architecture controls criteria required to demonstrate adherence to compliance.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

* Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.

* Demonstrated experience translating business needs into technical architecture requirements.

* Solid knowledge and understanding of software engineering architectures, system/software designs, and system deployments.

* Solid knowledge and understanding of enterprise architecture methods, artifacts, and tools.

* Demonstrated experience communicating and influencing at all levels of the organization from technical IT staff to business executives.

* Demonstrated experience working across a broad range of information technology domains, including application, data, infrastructure, and security domains with expertise in one or more domains.

* Demonstrated experiencing developing architectural models to communicate complex subjects in a clear and informative way to varying audiences.

* Solid knowledge and understanding of enterprise architecture methods, artifacts, and tools.

* Solid knowledge and understanding of business strategy development, business architecture, and business models as they relate to technology strategy development.

* Solid knowledge and understanding of enterprise architecture styles, including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web and mobile architectures, client/server architecture, business intelligence architectures, messaging and integration architectures, and legacy/mainframe architecture.

Travel Requirements

* This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.



Additional Job Information:

This Enterprise Solution Architect role sits within one of our Guidewire Delivery teams and will come with the following qualifications:

* Enterprise Solution Architecture experience - providing architecture design over multiple systems within a large organization
* New software product capability architecture
* System to system architecture and design
* Identifying new software patterns
* Architecture patterns
* Connecting Proof-of-Concept - breaking down business problems into technical solutions
* Providing Architecture for future platforms
* Guidewire Insurance Suite / Guidewire Digital Experience is a plus
* Insurance Industry experience is a plus
* Agile Environment Experience is a plus
* AWS / Cloud Architecture Experience/Certification AWS Solution Architect is a plus (Or demonstrated knowledge/experience with AWS capabilities, tools and terminology)
